GIS Technician / Administrative

Job Description

We are seeking a full-time detail-oriented GIS Technician. The GIS Technician’s responsibilities include collecting and compiling data, updating GIS maps, geocoding, spatial models, and progrGISing of the asset management software. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of GIS principles, excellent technical skills, and the ability to worGISoth independently and collaboratively. Provides training and technical support for GIS and associated applications to end-users.GIS

Other responsibilities would include training the staff in the use and capabilities of the GIS maps as well as the asset management program. Other responsibilities include assisting in the administrative duties when necessary.

Qualifications

· Strong proficiency in GIS software and related tools (ESRI GIS mapping)

· Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field or successful completion of an accredited GIS certificate program requiring at least 18 credit hours of coursework and one year of directly related experience

· Excellent technical skills

· Excellent programming and coding skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

· Must be a team player

· Knowledge of the Cityworks asset management is preferred

· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

· Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License

Starting Wage: $30.70 - $40 (depends on experience)

Hours: Monday – Friday / 40 hour work week
